Ever, Rêve, Hélène Cixous
Screening and conversation with
Brigitta Kuster | Olivier Morel
Olivier Morel’s Ever, Rêve, Hélène Cixous is a poetic journey, a road movie, and the feminist icon, May 68 activist, playwright, poet, philosopher (etc.) Hélène Cixous is its vehicle. In infinite conversation with friends like the philosopher Jacques Derrida, the artist Adel Abdessemed, with Ariane Mnouchkine and her cosmopolitan theatre company, Cixous explores the wounds of our time and allows us to hear “the cry of literature”. Throughout, the film’s cinematic language privileges a non-authoritative technique, with no interviews and through a sequential progression that seeks to unveil the mysteries of an artist’s creative search, of her intimate inspirations, and of her political engagements as a public intellectual.
The event is organised in collaboration with the seminar “Osnabrück” at the department of cultural history and theory at Humboldt University of Berlin.
